Civitatis celebrates surge of outbound routes from Mexico
In April 2024, Civitatis reached one million reservations, with 94% for international trips, showing outbound travel growth.
Ahead of FITUR, Civitatis celebrates the launch of new outbound air routes from Mexico in 2024 and advises global tour operators and activity providers to seize the opportunity by preparing targeted offerings for this growing market. These new connections represent not only exciting travel possibilities for Mexican nationals but also a significant opportunity for the travel and tourism sector to engage with an increasingly influential outbound market.
Last year, Civitatis reached a key milestone, surpassing one million reservations from Mexican travelers, 94% of which were for international trips. This remarkable achievement underscores Mexico’s growing status as a powerful source market for global tourism. With enhanced air connectivity in 2024, the potential for tourism providers to tap into the Mexican market has never been greater.
New outbound routes from Mexico in 2024 include Aeromexico’s daily flights connecting Mexico to Italy, enhancing travel to major Italian cities such as Rome, Milan, and Venice. China Southern Airlines has also launched direct flights from Shenzhen to Mexico City, facilitating easier access to key destinations across Asia. Additionally, Volaris has inaugurated a daily route from Monterrey to San Antonio, Texas, with plans to expand this service in 2025. These new routes provide exciting opportunities for Mexican travelers to explore destinations in Europe, Asia, and North America with greater ease and convenience, presenting opportunities for providers to cater specifically to Spanish-speaking travelers.
These new connections provide exciting travel opportunities for Mexican nationals and will further fuel the growing number of Mexicans traveling abroad. Civitatis continues to lead the way in meeting the needs of Spanish-speaking travelers, offering a diverse selection of tours and activities that allow them to explore destinations across Europe, Asia, and the United States without language barriers.
“The Mexican outbound market is growing at an unprecedented pace, making it an exciting time for providers of tours and activities worldwide,” said Enrique Espinel, COO of Civitatis. “We encourage providers to align their offerings with the preferences of Mexican travelers—curating experiences in Spanish and focusing on destinations like Europe, Asia, and North America, where interest is surging.”
Espinel emphasized the importance of language accessibility and tailored experiences. “At Civitatis, we pride ourselves on delivering seamless, high-quality tours in Spanish that enhance travelers’ journeys. By offering culturally relevant and language-friendly services, providers can build trust and long-lasting relationships with this dynamic audience.”
As the second most-spoken native language globally, Spanish unites over 600 million people worldwide, with Mexico leading as the largest Spanish-speaking population at 113 million natives. In 2023, Mexico recorded 46 million international departures, highlighting its growing impact on global tourism trends.
With this increased connectivity, Civitatis continues to lead the way in meeting the needs of Spanish-speaking travelers. Its carefully curated selection of tours and activities spans Europe, Asia, and North America, removing language barriers and ensuring unforgettable travel experiences.
As new opportunities emerge for the global travel industry, Civitatis remains dedicated to empowering its partners and travelers alike by providing innovative, high-quality solutions that keep language accessibility at the forefront of global tourism.
