Galaxy Macau recently invited award-winning chefs Lam Chan Kuok and Li Xiaolin to regale guests with a joint masterpiece menu for a South Meets North dinner event.
Referred to as a Pinnacle Gala Dinner, Lam and Li’s South Meets North collaboration is the latest in the hotel’s Master Chef Extravaganza series of gastronomic events.
The event is part of Galaxy Macau’s support of the Macao SAR Government’s efforts to reinforce the territory’s reputation as UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy
This is the first collaboration between the two chefs and embodies the essence of culinary cultures from both their native regions.
In turn, this embodies Galaxy Macau’s commitment to bringing visitors the most authentic flavors from around the world with unparalleled craftsmanship.
Expertise backed by tradition
Boasting a remarkable half a century of culinary expertise, Lam received the Chinese Master Chefs Lifetime Achievement Award in 2014 in recognition of his mastery of Cantonese cuisine.
Aside from this, the award-winning chef combines the best of various culinary traditions while adhering to the essence of eating in season.
Li, on the other hand, was trained in exquisite cooking techniques steeped in profound cultural heritage by his father Li Shanlin who founded the renowned Family Li Imperial Cuisine which specialises in Imperial Court dishes.
Since taking over from his father, the chef has elevated the reputation of Family Li Imperial Cuisine, garnering not only a Michelin two-star rating but also the prestigious Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants Lifetime Achievement Award, shining as the proud successor to the royal culinary traditions of the Qing dynasty.
