Melbourne & Olympic Parks (M&OP) – home to some of Australia’s top sporting and entertainment events – has announced it will showcase its highly anticipated new convention centre, Centrepiece, at Melbourne Park at AIME 2020, held in Melbourne on 17–19 February.
Scheduled for completion in late 2021, delegates attending AIME will have the opportunity to take an exclusive look at the new venue by visiting the Centrepiece stand on the show floor, embodying the venue’s surrounding native Australian landscape; or by booking a visit to the precinct to see its unparalleled location first hand.
Lara Burnes, general manager of premier events and experiences at M&OP said: “With AIME just around the corner, we can’t wait to showcase the unique capabilities of this new marvel at Melbourne Park and what it means to both national and international planners and their future events. Located only minutes away from Melbourne’s lively city, we’re looking forward to guiding delegates on how we can help enhance their event and, more importantly, create unforgettable moments.”
Currently in the third and final stage of its redevelopment, the new events centre will span three levels and offer indoor and outdoor function spaces that are suitable for any event. On top of this, the venue has the flexibility to cater for 10 to 3000 guests – with the main ballroom capable of being transformed into any configuration for an event, seating up to 1400 guests for a gala dinner and up to 3000 for a cocktail party.
