For the 2023 summer season, the Cayman Islands will be welcoming a fifth weekly direct flight from London Heathrow, enhancing the ease of accessibility to the British Caribbean destination.
From 26th March 2023, the additional British Airways direct* flight to Owen Roberts International Airport, George Town will offer enhanced flexibility for European travellers. Flights will operate on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
The launch of the additional flight for the Caribbean route, which has been in operation for over 25 years, follows the Cayman Islands’ full removal of Covid-related travel requirements in August 2022.
Mrs. Rosa Harris, Director of the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism. commented, “We’re pleased with British Airways’ addition of a fifth weekly direct flight from London Heathrow to Grand Cayman.”
“Multiple direct flights running throughout the week gives our visitors increased flexibility when planning their trip to Cayman, allowing them to tailor their trip around the exceptional vacation experiences they desire most, from our 365 spectacular dive sites and over 200 restaurants to our immersive wildlife experiences and colourful annual events.”
Mrs Harris added, “The additional direct flight demonstrates the increasing desire from European travellers to visit our islands and will hopefully allow us to exceed our pre-pandemic visitor numbers.”
