Carnival Magic clinches TDM Travel Trade Excellence Awards 2024 – Thailand for unique attractions
It features nine attractions that hold Guinness World Records.
Nighttime theme park Carnival Magic took home the Theme Park of the Year category win at the inaugural TDM Travel Trade Excellence Awards 2024 – Thailand for featuring many interesting attractions and light decorations that offer visitors other-worldly experiences.
The park has become one of the most-visited night-time attractions in Phuket since its opening, attracting thousands of guests from over 40 countries daily.
Amongst its key attractions is the world’s very first indoor parade show called “River Carnival” performed inside a 2,200-seat stadium, featuring a 70-metre long and 22-metre high stage. It is a 45-minute extravaganza that blends fantasies, festivals, and traditional parades of Thailand augmented with modern technology and special effects. More than 88 gigantic parade floats with millions of lights, automation, and cutting-edge special effects are on display.
Another highlight of the Carnival Magic is the 15-acre illumination park known as Kingdom of Lights which uses over 40 million LEDs to create a beautiful, breathtaking dreamscape of magical lights for guests to stroll through. There are nine zones to explore in the illumination park, where visitors can leisurely enjoy stunning illuminated decorations and sculptures.
The centrepiece of this zone is the River of Lights, where millions of lights are installed on uniquely designed steel plates called the “luminaries.”
Meanwhile, visitors can also make their way through a shopping street called “Carnival Fun Fair” and enjoy shopping for high-quality products in a festive, celebratory atmosphere created by a huge array of bright and colourful shops. Guests can enjoy all-night-long street performances, carnival and VR games, classic kiddie rides, snacks & desserts, and many photo & selfie opportunities.
Carnival Magic also features the “Bird of Paradise” buffet restaurant, which offers guests over 100 delicacies from the East and the West, including Indian, vegetarian, and Halal dishes. With a seating capacity of 3,000 guests, the restaurant is designed to look like a beautiful paradise guarded by two giant peacocks fanning their tails.
What makes the theme park unique is its nine attractions that are currently holders of Guinness World Records, which include: the longest single-chassis parade float, most lights used in a permanent light-and-sound show, the largest supported LED sculpture, the largest LED structure, the largest popcorn machine, the largest outdoor chandelier, the largest supported paper-mache sculpture, the tallest proscenium arch, and most LED lights on a van.
