The highly anticipated 10th year anniversary of the Island Hopper Songwriter Festival located in Fort Myers has announced that the acclaimed British band, Essex County, will be performing at this year’s festival from the 25th-26th September on Fort Myers Beach.
Essex County, who have opened for the likes of Brian May and Van Morrison, join the list of ninety singer-songwriters performing at the Fort Myers Island Hopper Music Festival.
The Island Hopper Songwriter Festival is an annual event that celebrates the art of songwriting. Hosted in the stunning locations of Captiva Island, Cape Coral, Downtown Fort Myers, and Fort Myers Beach, the festival features performances by award-winning country music singers and songwriters.
This year marks the festival’s 10th anniversary, making it a particularly special occasion. Additionally, the Island Hopper Songwriter Fest was recently named one of USA Today’s Best Music Festival of 2024, further cementing its reputation.
Essex County, a talented trio from Essex in the UK, have been making waves in the music industry with their distinctive blend of country and rock. Comprised of brothers Nate, Mark, and Kieran Bass, the band is celebrated for their soaring melodies, impressive guitar work, and rich family harmonies. Their music resonates with audiences worldwide, and their live performances are nothing short of electrifying.
Over the years, they have honed their craft, working alongside renowned producers and songwriters including on their EP, “So Good,” produced by Ron Fair, garnering nearly 1 million streams on Spotify. Most recently, the band performed at the iconic London Palladium for the James Burton and Friends One Night Only Show, sharing the stage with legendary artists such as Brian May and Van Morrison.
Fort Myers communications manager and Shellcast host Jackie Parker spoke in an interview with Essex County for the Fort Myers Shellcast podcast, describing the band as “ambassadors” of the festival, as her and the band reminisced on some of their fond memories of the festival including their stay at the Pink Shell Beach Resort, stating, “We are honored to be a part of it and will continue to join for as long as we can.”
