They are thrilled to announce their collaboration with Kim and the Brisbane Convention Centre, as they prepare for the opening of an exciting new precinct in Brisbane. This precinct, where the staff of Brisbane will reside, is one of four that will transform the city.
Despite challenges such as floods, COVID-19, and supply chain issues over the past six years, they are pleased to confirm that the precinct will be opening towards the end of August. This will be a significant milestone not only for the precinct but also for Brisbane.
The precinct, which was once an underutilised part of the CBD, now spans 24,000 square metres, covering roughly 10% of the Brisbane CBD. It will link via the Level 1 bridge to South Bank outlands, an iconic precinct for many years.
Today, they are announcing their collaboration with the Brisbane Convention Centre to make Brisbane an enviable destination for business events, incentives, and associations. The Neville Bonner Bridge will link their precinct to the convention centre, providing a short 100-metre walk for delegates and event attendees. They plan to activate the bridge for events, lighting it up in company colours or staging events directly on the bridge.
The precinct, known as Queens Wharf, is a collaboration between the Star Entertainment Group, Chow Tai Fook Enterprises, and Far East Consortium. It will feature four hotels, 50 bars and restaurants, 7.5 hectares of public realm, and a curated art scene. They will also be reactivating the 12 heritage buildings within the precinct.
One of the highlights of the precinct will be the sky deck, a 250-metre runway of activation space that will offer the best views for River fireworks on New Year’s Eve. They look forward to offering this venue to delegates visiting Brisbane.
In addition, they have a ballroom that spans 2000 square metres and can accommodate up to 14140 people in a banquet format. This will complement the overall offering for Brisbane. They are not here to compete against the convention centre but to work closely together to curate events and make Brisbane the destination of choice.
They believe that if Brisbane wins, the whole city wins. This means the convention centre wins, and the other precincts and Brisbane as a whole win. They are just playing their part in the incredible infrastructure support currently happening in Brisbane. They look forward to hosting all and showing all what it’s all about when you all are next in Brisbane.
