Earlier this summer, I was interviewed by Kathy Ireland on Worldwide Business for a segment on my new tech venture and my new book, the Game Changer.
Knowing my background, her first question to me was about online travel and what about it was broken. My answer?
“As travelers, we have been totally bewitched by online travel.”
What I didn’t know when I chose that particular word was that “Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered “was a hit song in 1940 by famed duo Rodgers and Hart. It has been recorded by everyone from Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald to Linda Ronstadt and Lady Gaga.
The next day a dear friend sent me the lyrics and a link to his personal favorite rendition of the tune. Right then I knew that I simply had to write a blog, with both title and lyrics as my inspiration.
It would allow me to explain why I think that despite major advances travel technology, the travel industry is still terribly broken.
Over the next three days, we will post a three-part series entitled Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered and I’ll clue you in on why I hold this somewhat controversial belief.
Stay tuned.
