Azamara has announced that the cruise company will return to Venice on April 3, 2023, as part of its 12-night The Best of the Med Voyage.
Beginning next spring, the line’s four-ship fleet will be able to enter the Venetian Lagoon ports of Chioggia and Fusina, providing guests with a seamless opportunity to marvel at gondolas, wander the cobblestone streets, and explore Venice.
“We’re happy to not only bring our guests back to this ancient canal city but also to let them see the beauties of neighbouring villages such as Chioggia, which only smaller ships may visit,” said Mike Pawlus, Azamara’s Director of Strategic Itinerary & Destination Planning.
“We are excited to once again immerse our guests in the destination’s rich local culture and great historical attractions.”
Azamara’s continuing pursuit of hidden jewels provides guests with the unique chance to discover Chioggia, which has lately witnessed a surge in tourism due to the flourishing of bacari, which are bars selling wine and finger food around the major canal, Riva Vena.
The city’s charming canals, antique cathedrals, magnificent sandy beaches, and unexplored landscapes may all be enjoyed by visitors.
Azamara, which is dedicated to giving travellers a more authentic connection to a location, provides a variety of educational shore excursions to assist passengers in delving deeper into Venice’s legendary history and local life, including:
- An intimate evening gondola ride accompanied by a local singer and an accordionist, creating a classic and romantic Venetian experience.
- A motorboat cruise to neighbouring isles, Murano, and Burano, where guests will enjoy a tour of an acclaimed glass-blowing factory, as well as a demonstration of traditional lace-making techniques.
- A guided walking tour with a local expert, including visits to the beautiful church of Saint Rocco and Campo San Polo, one of the oldest squares in Venice.
