OAG’s latest data puts Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson Airport back at the top of the list of Global (International + Domestic Capacity) Busiest Airports in March, having been surpassed by Dubai International for the first two months of 2024. The US airport has 5,201,779 seats this month compared to 4,989,008 for Dubai.
With 3,764,549 seats, Delhi Airport has entered the top ten this month in 10th position, pushing out Istanbul Airport.
The top five busiest airports are unchanged when compared to the same month in 2023, but – demonstrating China’s ongoing aviation recovery – two Chinese airports have made significant climbs over the past 12 months; Shanghai Pudong International Airport moves from 22nd position in March last year to 8th in 2024. with 3,997,402 seats and Beijing Capital International Airport has moved from 14th to 9th place with 3,899,888 seats.
OAG’s monthly Busiest Airports rankings are based on scheduled capacity in the current month and compared to the equivalent month in 2023. The Top 10 Busiest Airports are calculated using total capacity (domestic and international).
