Destination management company, ASIA DMC, will demonstrate its environmental credentials next month when group managing director, Linh Le, debates the critical issue of sustainable tourism in an expert panel discussion at WTM London 2017.
Taking place on the first day of the international travel trade show at ExCeL London, the session will see a panel of experts examine “The Major Environmental Challenges: Carbon & Water”.
The platform will allow Linh to share his extensive experience in the sustainable tourism sector, debate how the industry is facing up to its environmental responsibilities, and reflect on the measures Asia DMC is putting in place to ensure a sustainable future for the communities in which it operates.
“Sustainability and resource management are arguably the biggest challenges facing the global travel and tourism industry in the 21st Century,” said Linh Le. “At Asia DMC, we put environmental and social considerations at the core of our business, ensuring that everything we do has a positive impact.
“With its continued focus on responsible tourism, WTM London is playing a key role in driving the global debate and promoting thought leadership. By discussing these critical issues, exchanging ideas and sharing best practices, we can help combat the industry’s growing environmental threats and set travel and tourism on course for a more sustainable future,” he added.
Asia DMC was recently awarded Partner status with Travelife, the UK-based training, management and certification initiative for tourism companies. This followed the launch of several social and environmental initiatives, including reducing the company’s energy use, only using sustainable suppliers, eliminating the use of plastic bottles, and implementing child and animal welfare policies.
