andBeyond Phinda Rock Lodge in South Africa is celebrating 20 years since its original opening date with a comprehensive refurbishment.
Renovation at the brand’s first lodge includes enhancements to guest areas and suites with floor-to-ceiling French doors leading on to large verandas, with views of the valleys. A new rooftop terrace has also been created.
The lodge’s guest areas have been redecorated using a combination of woven linen, hand-embroidered cotton and Persian carpets.
All decks have been reconfigured to allow space for outdoor dining, with stretched canvas shades for protection from the sun. Bathrooms have been completely refurbished to feature raw timber slabs and granite surfaces.
andBeyond Phinda Private Game Reserve encompasses 28,555 hectares of protected wildlife land in KwaZulu-Natal. Here much of andBeyond’s greater conservation and community projects take place encompassing the three C’s: Care of the Land, Care of the Wildlife, Care of the People.
