The Monaco Government Tourist and Convention Authority will be hosting Asia’s first Monaco Film Festival this October in Singapore
Known for glamour, rich history and iconic scenery, the Principality of Monaco – also known as the crown jewel of the French Riviera – will welcome festival-goers on an indulgent nine day long film showcase from 14-22 October 2017, at the Alliance Française de Singapour and at Capitol Theatre.
“While the world-famous assets of Monaco continue to appeal to the Principality’s international elite clientele, through this first Monaco Film Festival in Asia, we wanted to reach out to a broader audience and introduce Monaco through a medium that appeals to people regardless of age – cinema,” said Benoit Badufle, managing director of Monaco Government Tourism Bureau Asia Office. “The selection of films and the never-shown-before original movie posters exhibition will show images and scenery from Monaco through the last 60 years and will undoubtedly entice the new generation to discover and stay in Monaco.”
Organised by Alliance Française de Singapour, Singapore Film Society, Capitol Theatre, Bomanbridge Media, Air France, with the support of Capella Singapore, APM Monaco and Creme Simon, the festival promises to be an exciting celebration of the Principality.
Movie-buffs will be able to enjoy 13 feature films shot partly or entirely in Monaco, spanning across genre lines from drama & thriller to comedy and more, featuring titles such as “Grand Prix”, “La Fille de Monaco”, “La Baie des Anges” and the famous Alfred Hitchcock movie ‘To Catch a thief”. The festival will also be holding a Gala night on 17 October at the Capitol Theatre.
