The American Women’s Club of Thailand (AWC) in partnership with the Combined Women’s Clubs of Thailand (CWL) will host a charity fundraising tropical cruise themed lunch on board the Chao Phraya Princess riverboat on Wednesday October 4, 2023 from 12:00 to 3:00.
The AWC is a volunteer-based organisation, established in 1955 and works tirelessly to raise funds for their chosen charity – AWC Scholarship Program which helps underprivileged girls in rural Thailand to finish high school by providing scholarships. In 2023, the AWC aims to provide scholarships to 250 students to realize their dream of receiving an education. The AWC partners with the Education for Development Foundation (EDF) to ensure the funds donated and programs initiated support the students in the best way possible. EDF is an education charitable organization operating under the laws of Thailand. In 2012, it was the winner of the ‘Thailand NGO of the Year’ for best practices.
There will be over THB200,00 in prizes to be won on the day generously donated by Hilton – Pattaya/Hua Hin/Millennium Bangkok hotels, Athenee Hotel Bangkok, dining vouchers from Waldorf Astoria, Punjab Grill, Smoking Pug, Conrad Bangkok, Anantara Hotels, Kai New Zealand, Mama Dolores, and donations from local businesses including Lin Jewelers, Gemfetti jewellery, SJ International Jewelers, Rajawongse Tailors, Oasis Spa and Asian Tigers to name just a few.
The event is open to everyone, and attendees do not need to be a member of the AWC or CWL organization.
“AWC is honored to host the annual Combined Women’s Lunch 2023 fundraiser, providing an opportunity for the many women’s groups in Bangkok to gather and celebrate friendship. In addition to a fun-filled afternoon, auction and raffle proceeds will provide 250 Thai high school girls access to education in 28 schools throughout rural Thailand. We hope you will join us to celebrate friendship and the gift of education.” said AWC Co-President Jennifer Sparks.
Tickets are THB2023 per person (must be paid in advance) and include live music, an international buffet lunch, welcome drink and non-alcoholic beverages, auction and raffle prizes, BYOB wine for free corkage and cash bar available. Seating arrangements are tables of 8 people, so gather your friends and book now, (however single tickets are also available for purchase). The boat will depart from Icon Siam pier promptly at 12 noon.
