Aman unveils Aman Residences, Tokyo
Aman unveils its first standalone branded residential project, Aman Residences, Tokyo, located in the heart of the new Azabudai Hills development, which opened in November 2023. The initial planned-for-sale residences have been sold to owners, securing a price per square foot with market-leading premiums. Owners have moved into their homes following the property’s completion and benefit from permanent access to the unrivalled Aman lifestyle.
Located in the Azabudai Hills Mori JP Tower, the tallest residential building in Japan with architecture designed by Pelli Clarke & Partners, Aman Residences Tokyo comprises 91 fully serviced apartments with vast residence-only amenities across the top eleven floors of the tower. With interiors designed by Yabu Pushelberg the concept for the project was to draw inspiration from the elements and explore the relationship between the land, sea, and sky uniting this with the Aman aesthetic of Asian style with European influences.
Upon arrival, the residences feature a private entrance and dedicated elevators which ascend directly to the residential floor in the tower wherein the arrival lobby astounds with its suspended sculpture of immense scale which floats above a tranquil reflection pond, designed to ground owners and reconnect them to the natural elements in the midst of the city.
In addition to the residences, owners benefit from hotel-like programming and extensive amenities, as well as Aman’s unparalleled service to elevate one’s lifestyle. Owners will enjoy the Lounge, bar, private dining room, tea room, library, reading room, media room and games room. Furthermore, the Aman Spa features an approx. 25m pool, sauna, steam, relaxation room, plus two treatment rooms, and expansive gym.
Nature is at the root of the design intention and concept at Aman Residences, Tokyo, reflecting Aman’s long-standing ethos to celebrate the local culture, heritage, and surroundings of each of its settings. Throughout the shared spaces, there is the punctuation of the elements; water, air, fire, and earth, not only create moments of beauty but also enable owners to reconnect with oneself, grounded in the spaces through references to nature.
The feeling of serenity is continued with the use of muted, natural, and earthbound colours that mimic the layers of the earth, adding warmth and texture, while an extensive display of artworks and a considered art curation brings additional colour and dimension to the property. The fusion of the Asian aesthetic with authentic references to Japanese design and culture, alongside a Western sensibility around texture, comfort and warmth has created a destination which is soft and ethereal, celebrating the understated elegance of Aman.
Vlad Doronin, Chairman, CEO and Owner of Aman Group, said: “Aman Residences, Tokyo represents a deep immersion into the Aman lifestyle in the heart of the city and sets a new standard for luxury residences not just in Japan but globally. The execution of this project is second-to-none, with a consideration of every detail and refinement in the design which creates an instant feeling of calm, sanctuary, and peace upon arrival and represents a successful collaboration between Aman and Mori Building Co. The scale and quality of the amenities, and in particular the Aman Spa and Lounge, demonstrates our commitment to delivering the revered Aman way of living at the highest level. I look forward to us continuing to build upon this exceptional standard as we introduce additional branded residences in Bangkok, Beverly Hills, Miami Beach, and Niseko over the coming years.”
Aman commenced its journey with branded residences in 1988 with Amanpuri, setting the benchmark for fully-serviced residences, expanding and developing this concept with both urban and resort offerings in exceptional locations, including Amanzoe, Greece and Aman New York, USA. Today, Aman’s constellation of destinations comprises 13 branded residence locations, with a further ten destinations due to feature Aman Residences in the next five years.
The initial phase of Aman Residences, Tokyo is fully committed. A few remaining units are available for purchase from the second phase of sales which began recently.
