Now arriving – Airport Restaurant Month this May at more than 50 airports across North America. Book your ticket, head to the airport and pull up a chair to savor this innovative culinary event created by global restaurateur HMSHost. Airport Restaurant Month is a unique take on the popular street-side restaurant week concept, but HMSHost has customized it for travelers, bringing an unmatched and uncommon culinary experience into the airport.
For the entire month of May, HMSHost offers a chef-driven menu full of bold flavors, featuring locally-sourced ingredients when available, with dishes that are expertly matched with wine pairings. Based on Airport Restaurant Month’s continued popularity and success as travelers seek unique dining options, new airports and nearly 100 restaurant locations, more than ever before, are participating this May.

HMSHost’s award-winning culinary team created a single-plated chef’s tasting menu designed specifically with a traveler’s need for speed of service in mind. Each dish is plated perfectly together to help expedite the dining experience for the time conscious traveler so they may enjoy at their own pace.
This May’s Airport Restaurant Month menu gives travelers a variety of offerings – from hearty meals to lighter options. To spotlight different restaurants’ unique culinary offerings, individual restaurants offer special customized tasting menus that spotlight their own flavors and trends – like a tasting menu from award-winning Wicker Park Seafood & Sushi in Chicago O’Hare International Airport, as well as a celebrity chef driven menu from Chef Lorena Garcia at the Lorena Garcia Tapas Y Cocina in Dallas Fort Worth International Airport.
A sample of the dishes on the tasting menu include:
- Flatbreads such as the Heirloom Tomato or the Crispy Eggplant that features a creamy brie, caramelized onions, baby spinach, and a honey mustard vinaigrette.
- Sandwiches such as the Grilled Chicken Gyro or the Cilantro Lime Shrimp Wrap that comes in a flour tortilla with jalapeño crema, roasted corn, and black bean slaw.
- Premium beef burgers such as the Asian Burger with hoisin ketchup, ginger sesame cabbage slaw, chili garlic mayonnaise or the Caprese Burger with vine ripe tomato, mozzarella, balsamic onions, and a basil pesto aioli.
- Entrées such as the Pan Roasted Salmon or the Grilled Shrimp Skewers with pineapple, scallions, toasted sesame, and a hoisin glaze.
The above dishes come with a variety of accompaniments, including a Peach Arugula Salad with roasted red peppers, toasted walnut, and strawberry balsamic vinaigrette. Other options include pickled vegetables, parmesan seasoned fries, grilled asparagus and a daily creation of a chef’s potato.
Adding another layer to enhance the dining experience, HMSHost’s sommeliers have skillfully matched suggested wines for each Airport Restaurant Month dish. These wine suggestions balance the flavor characteristics of each dish with the flavor profile of each wine creating the perfect pairing.
