All around the globe, Airbnb is adding hundreds of concerts and it’s already on track to be in 50 cities and have 20,000 people booking Airbnb Concerts each month before the year ends.
Since launching Trips in 2016, nightlife is fast-growing as an Experience category. With its success, Airbnb has also added new passion categories including Airbnb Concerts.
Airbnb Concerts are intimate live shows where guests can get up close and personal with their favourite musicians in various genres. It’s held in surprise venues which travellers and locals alike usually don’t know about. For more a decade, the company believed in its vision to be an end-to-end travel company (even announcing a plan to launch an airline). Now, with the expansion of Airbnb Concerts, it’s adding more features that music fans will surely enjoy.
Driven by 5000 of its Experiences product across 60 destinations, Airbnb bookings have grown 2,500% in the past year. And with this high demand, the home-sharing company has decided to expand Experiences to 1000 destinations by the end of 2018. Some of the most-booked Experience hosts have earned more than US$200,000 through their offerings.
The growth of Experiences is 25 times faster than Homes did in its first year
Experience passion categories include Airbnb Concerts, Social Dining, Adventures, and Social Impact in which it works with more than a thousand non-profit groups.
As part of Airbnb Concerts series, multi-Grammy-award-winning artist John Legend has partnered with Airbnb. The soul singer is releasing a new single called “A Good Night”, and worked together with Airbnb to curate a collection of Airbnb nightlife experiences inspired by the song.
To date, performances have ranged from up and coming artists to mainstream groups like Arizona and Vance Joy. And now, John Legend, who called Airbnb his home during his last tour, will be joining the list.
John Legend’s music event will take place in Los Angeles on 21 June.
