Air India Express celebrates new flights from Bhubaneswar to Jaipur, Kochi, Lucknow, and Patna
Air India Express celebrated the launch of four new routes from Bhubaneswar with a celebratory event at the city’s airport. The inaugural flights to Jaipur and Kochi marked the occasion, while services to Lucknow will commence tomorrow, and flights to Patna are set to start on 15 January 2025. The celebration was attended by dignitaries including Babu Singh, Member of Legislative Assembly; Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary, Government of Odisha; Debadutta Suranjita Jena, Additional Secretary, Government of Odisha; and senior officials from Air India Express. Special commemorative boarding passes were presented to the first guests of the inaugural flights to Jaipur and Kochi.
The inaugural flight to Jaipur departed at 07:55 hours and arrived at 10:15 hours, while the first flight to Kochi took off at 15:10 hours and landed at 17:40 hours.

Air India Express now operates 104 weekly flights from Bhubaneswar, connecting the city directly to 11 domestic destinations and offering one-stop connectivity to 19 additional domestic and 10 international locations, including major hubs like Dubai, Singapore, and Riyadh.
Over the past month, Air India Express has rapidly expanded its network, surpassing the milestone of 50 destinations. Recent additions include services to Bangkok, Jammu, and Sri Vijaya Puram (Port Blair), with flights to Dimapur, Nagaland, having commenced on 1 January 2025. The airline’s growing fleet now exceeds 90 aircraft, with plans to cross the 100 aircraft mark soon.
Reflecting Odisha’s vibrant culture, one of Air India Express’s newest aircraft features a striking livery inspired by the state’s iconic Ikat textile design.
