Air Astana celebrates 20 years flying to the UK
Air Astana, the principal airline and flag carrier of the Republic of Kazakhstan, marks 20 years flying from London Heathrow and to celebrate, is offering its loyal customers and future travellers 20% off bookings made between 11 December and 17 December 2023.
As a strategic destination for the airline, the UK continues to be a prominent market, with up to five flights weekly and with a return trip (inclusive of the discount) starting at £381, travellers can tick the ninth largest country in the world off their bucket list.
Since first connecting London Heathrow and Kazakhstan in 2003, the national airline has flown close to 450,000 passengers between the countries and has been recognised by Skytrax as the best Airline in Central Asia and CIS for the last 11 years. This year APEX (Airline Passenger Experience Association) rated Air Astana as a 5-Star airline within its major airline category, as well as awarding the airline with the Best Inflight Entertainment and Cabin Service in Central and South Asia.
The flag carrier continues to work with UK-based tour operators to drive awareness and increase visitor numbers to Kazakhstan. Recently, Air Astana has been selected by innovative small group escorted holiday specialists Jules Verne to provide return flights for all 2024 departures for a tour of Central Asia beginning in Almaty.
As well, the airline has established direct connections to onward destinations from London Heathrow, such as New Delhi, and Tashkent, transiting in Almaty. For non-connecting destinations, such as Bangkok, Phuket, Seoul and Beijing, Air Astana offers an attractive Stopover Holiday Program to all passengers flying to these destinations from Heathrow, whereby a night’s accommodation, airport transfers and breakfast the next morning can be bought from £17pp.
Richard Ledger, Senior Regional Manager for the UK & Ireland, Western Europe and Americas, says: “Twenty successful years is a significant milestone for the airline, one which I’m considerably proud of.”
“Promoting Kazakhstan as a destination to British travellers is a unique but rewarding challenge and this anniversary only highlights the fruits borne of this mission. Not only that but facilitating travel for Kazakh expats living in Britain with up to five weekly flights between the two countries demonstrates the strength of partnership between the two countries.”
“As a ‘thank you’ to all of its loyal customers, and a ‘nice to meet you’ to all prospective visitors to Kazakhstan, Air Astana is offering 20% off all bookings made between 11 – 17 December 2023 from London Heathrow to Almaty, Astana and Aktau.”
Air Astana’s route between London Heathrow and Almaty operates up to five weekly flights in summer and up to four weekly flights in the winter.
