AE Expeditions celebrate B Corp Month by hosting agents on wellness walks
In celebration of B Corp Month this March, AE Expeditions (part of Aurora Expeditions), the award-winning B-Corp certified polar expedition company, hosted agents and operators for a fun day of wellness walks and a chance to find out more about their sustainability initiatives.
On 5th March, seventeen people from the travel industry joined the team from AE Expeditions to get outside, find out more about their award-winning polar expeditions, their recent B Corp certification, their partnership with Approach Guides, and get a teaser of their new third ship that will be launching in 2025.
Agents and operators attending included The Ultimate Travel Company, Travel Counsellors, Explore! Worldwide, Discover the World, ATAS, Natural World Safaris, Wildlife Worldwide, Mundy Adventures, Exsus Travel, The Expedition Cruise Network (ECN), Southern Cross Travel and Polar Routes.
The event was hosted at Albury Vineyard, a small family run organic vineyard in the stunning Surrey Hills. After a welcome drink, guests enjoyed a two hour nature walk, followed by a delicious Indian tiffin lunch at Mandira’s kitchen accompanied by a glass of Albury Vineyard’s fizz. In the afternoon there was a willow making workshop by Hedges & Hurdles, where everyone created bird feeders or birdhouses to take home.
Katie Harber, Senior Business Development Manager at AE Expeditions commented; “We had a really successful and fun day. It was great to see so many agents getting involved, getting outside, and learning more about AE Expeditions and our focus on sustainability. We specifically chose small, family run businesses who echo our ethos to help with this day. We also encouraged all guests to either arrive by train or car share to minimise their environmental impact.”
Guests were all given sustainable gifts to take home – tin travel mugs created by a small business called Stubbs Mugs, and ethically sourced chocolates in the shape of AE Expeditions’ ships, created by a small business called The Canny Chocolate Company.
AE Expeditions is running a series of wellness walks every month. The walks give agents the opportunity to get out into nature and learn more about AE Expeditions in a relaxed environment. Dogs are welcome, and there will be coffee stops along the way! The next walks are:
18 April – Box Hill Circular Walk, Surrey (two miles)
22 May – Denny Wood, New Forest (four miles)
18 July – Waters Edge Country Park, Hull (three miles)
13 August – Blakeney Circular Walk, Norfolk (four miles)
