Accor, the largest hotel operator in Australia and New Zealand, together with Yaralla Sports Club are delighted to announce that construction has commenced on Peppers Gladstone – the region’s first five-star hotel. Anticipated to open its doors to guests in mid-2024, Peppers Gladstone promises an unparalleled level of luxury and comfort that will redefine the hospitality landscape in Central Queensland.
The hotel marks a significant milestone for Accor as it merges the prestigious 32-room Peppers Gladstone with the stylish 60-room Mantra Gladstone under one roof in a vertical, dual-branded hotel concept. Peppers Gladstone is also the first new hotel construction in the region in over a decade.
Accor Pacific CEO, Sarah Derry, said: “We are thrilled to announce a Peppers hotel at one of Queensland’s most captivating central coast towns. Peppers Gladstone will offer a unique and significant addition to our premium brand portfolio in Queensland. Its guestrooms, apartments and amenities will provide an elevated guest experience, particularly appealing to those seeking extra space and comfort for an extended stay.”
Yaralla Sports Club CEO, Will Schroeder, said: “Our team is excited to be working collaboratively with Accor to bring to life our five star dream for Central Queensland. Peppers Gladstone, in conjunction with Mantra Gladstone, will offer two levels of accommodation under one roof, meaning there will be two fantastic options for visitors to enjoy our wonderful city.”
Designed by BSPN Architects and constructed by Mettle Projects, Peppers Gladstone will cater to a range of travellers, from business guests seeking refined comfort to leisure travellers pausing to recharge. The hotel’s guestrooms will be artfully curated to capture the essence of the surrounding landscapes – from the serene bush to the vibrant city, lush rainforests, and breathtaking coastline.
Ranging from King Studio Rooms to Superior Two Bedroom Apartments, all guestrooms will feature fully equipped kitchens, king-sized beds, large televisions with Chromecast capabilities, and a complimentary non-alcoholic mini-bar.
Guests can also take advantage of the hotel’s heated outdoor swimming pool, complimentary drinks at the pool deck bar (during select hours), exclusive access to Peppers’ eight-seater cinema room, a well-appointed gym, secure undercover car parking, Wi-Fi, a choice of two onsite restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus a member’s lounge offering a welcoming space for a hot or cold beverage.
The property – a fusion of Peppers Gladstone and Mantra Gladstone – can comfortably accommodate over 150 guests, making it an ideal venue for small to large-scale meetings, expos and weddings within its various conference spaces. Conveniently situated just minutes away from the CBD, Peppers Gladstone boasts an advantageous location adjoining the Yaralla Sports Club, adding to the convenience and appeal for guests.
Gladstone is situated on Queensland’s Capricorn Coast – a part of the Southern Great Barrier Reef region. When open, Peppers Gladstone will offer leisure guests a contemporary place to stay prior/post any tours and trips to the reef. Peppers Gladstone will join a network of more than 20 Peppers retreats, resorts and CBD hotels across Australia, New Zealand and Indonesia. Since acquiring Peppers in 2018, Accor has continued to grow the brand with four additional Peppers hotels opening across Australia in the past five years, including the Peppers Manly Beach, Peppers Marysville, Peppers The Hills Lodge, and Shadow Play Melbourne by Peppers.
Accor brands across the Pacific region include: Sofitel, MGallery, Art Series, Pullman, Swissôtel, Mövenpick, Grand Mercure, Peppers, The Sebel, Mantra, Handwritten Collection, Novotel, Mercure, BreakFree, ibis, ibis Styles and ibis budget, as well as Ennismore’s SO/ and TRIBE.
