Virgin Atlantic brings in new £24 charge for UK passengers
Passengers booking economy tickets will pay an additional £8, whilst those in Premium will face a £12 charge and upper-class travellers will see a £24 surcharge added to their fares.
Virgin Atlantic has hiked prices with the introduction of a carbon surcharge on flights from the UK. Passengers booking economy tickets will pay an additional £8, whilst those in Premium will face a £12 charge and upper-class travellers will see a £24 surcharge added to their fares.
Virgin Atlantic stated: “We’ve introduced a carbon surcharge on all flights from the UK from 1 January 2025 to help meet the increasing operational costs to the airline as part of the transition to Net Zero 2050 This includes the UK SAF Mandate and CORSIA offset costs.
