Vietnam Airlines poised for global expansion in 2025
The Vietnamese flag-carrier plans to expand its network within the year
Vietnam Airlines is set to expand its global reach this year, launching flights to Europe, North America, and Asia.
At present, the airline operates non-stop flights on 91 routes, divided 34 domestic and 57 International routes.
Vietnam Airlines connects its home country with 54 destinations worldwide, ferrying around 24.1 million passengers and 230,000 tonnes of cargo in 2024.
European options
Vietnam Airlines is looking into Danish capital Copenhagen as a potential destination to augment its current five-hub European roster.
It is also planning to make several adjustments to routes already flying out of Hanoi: London at least thrice weekly, Paris four times a week, Frankfurt five times weekly, and Munich twice a week.
Beginning July 2025, Vietnam Airlines will be operating a thrice weekly service to and from Milan, Italy.
Flying down under
At present, Vietnam Airlines flies to Sydney and Melbourne on a daily basis, and to Perth thrice a week from Ho Chi Minh City.
The airline also flies from Hanoi to Sydney and Melbourne thrice weekly.
Darwin could be Vietnam Airlines’ fourth potential destination in Australia this year.
North America and Asia in 2025
Vietnam Airlines is presently evaluating feedback from its recent launch flights to Vancouver.
Depending on results, Vancouver could become the airline’s first regular route to Canada.
At the same time, Vietnam Airlines is considering flying new routes to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, Bangalore in India, and Dhaka in Bangladesh.
This is the first time the airline is looking to expand into Bangladesh and the Middle East.
While the airline already flies to Delhi and Mumbai, the Indian market remains ripe in terms of potential expansion.
