For anyone looking for travel inspiration, Czechia is the place to go in 2025. With cool happenings and events for every season, there’s plenty to see and do on a trip to the Czech Republic.
Will you visit the stunning capital or venture further afield beyond the city and discover the hidden gems beyond Prague?
Five Star Stays
A stunning hotel is set to attract affluent visitors to the Czech capital after a major revamp. The landmark hotel in the Czech capital is set to open its doors after undergoing multi million Euro renovations. The five star Fairmont Golden Prague will welcome guests from March 2025. Located in the historic Old Town near the prestigious Pařížská Boulevard, the hotel occupies a prime setting for visiting Prague’s top sights and tourist attractions. Overlooking the Vltava River, the Fairmont Golden Prague will set a new benchmark for luxury.
Shoulder Season – beat the crowds and bag the best deals
Visiting Czechia in any month is always a good idea and with so much going on 365 it’s easy to take a break here when it suits you. ‘Shoulder Season’ is fast becoming a travel trend for holidaymakers looking to get the best from their trip as well as avoiding heatwaves and overtourism. As adventurous yet budget conscious visitors search for new, less crowded, and more affordable places to go, the Czech Republic has emerged as a top choice and one of the best ways to keep the cost down is to travel during shoulder seasons such as spring (April to early June) and autumn (September to early November)
Me-Mooning/solo travel and ‘Ex-cursions’
A recent trend has emerged and is seeing travellers head off on solo adventures, sometimes post break-up but often just to have quality time, discovering the treasure of the wider world with only themselves to please.
A great itinerary for a Czech solo adventure is to start off in Prague, then travel between other Czech cities by train. From Prague, visitors can explore historic sites and attractions in the cities of Brno, Pilsen, Olomouc as well as the atmospheric spa towns of Marianske Lazne and Karlovy Vary. The route from Prague to Marianske Lazne is one of the most scenic – the rail trip is as much part of the journey as the destination. Whether it’s the vineyards of South Morvavia, the castles and countryside of Central Bohemia, or the healing waters of the Spa Triangle towns that are on the agenda, the best way to reach them is by train. Compared to train travel in the UK, ticket prices are attractive in Czechia. Imagine being able to take in multiple exciting cities and stunning fairytale towns for the price of a decent lunch!
Holidays with meaning – immersed in local communities
If heading out into lesser known destinations is on the cards, Czechia’s regions beyond Prague offers visitors the chance to immerse themselves deeper into the country’s culture, getting a taste of regional gastronomy, local wines and everyday life in authentic communities. Within easy reach of the capital lies South Moravia – the perfect region for foodies and wine lovers. South Moravian wines are considered a national treasure and have been recognised with silver and gold medals by wine judges from all over the world. Thanks to its unique diversity, South Moravia is divided into four wine growing regions: Znojmo, Mikulov, Velké Pavlovice and Slovácko. It’s not all about wine of course, discover the Garden of Europe in Lednice-Valtice complex, cycle along vineyards or just enjoy the amazing hearty Czech food and slow down.
Heritage travel and UNESCO treasures
The cultural offerings of a destination is still high on the agenda for travellers and what better way to spend time than experiencing live music in one of the world’s most beautiful cities. In 2025, Prague International Spring festival will celebrate its 80th anniversary. Taking place in May and June, the world-famous classical music festival presents the best of opera, theatre and orchestral performances in some of the city’s most atmospheric venues.
Similarly, visiting UNESCO World Heritage Sites adds a new dimension to a travel experience and Czech traditions continue to attract curious visitors – beer brewing, wine making, spas and wellness for starters. These have helped make Czechia a unique and desirable destination – a country that has embraced technology and innovation without forgetting its roots.
Active adventures for thrill seekers
In 2025, runners from all over the world will head to the capital for the 30th Prague Marathon – and what better way to clock up 26 miles than through the stunning capital city. Or, if heading out into the hills and mountains is more your thing, there’s plenty of outdoor fun to inspire even the biggest sports fans or adrenaline junkies. The country might be best known for its fairytale capital city but beyond the magic of Prague there’s a wild side just waiting to be explored. Take your outdoor break to new heights and head to the Krkonoše Mountains where you’ll find Mount Snezka, Czechia’s highest mountain. Or explore the rock formations, sweeping countryside and the famous gorges of Bohemian Switzerland. Starting from the town of Hrensko, explorers can take the 25km circular route to the Edmund Gorge and Wild Gorge, visiting the mighty Pravčická Gate along the way. Looking for chills and thrills to experience winter in Czechia? Go on piste for some top ski action at the Dolní Morava ski resort which also boasts one of the longest bobsleigh tracks in the Czech Republic.
Are you ready for love? ‘Baecations’ are back
According to ABTA’s Travel Trends for 2025, couples-only holidays are where it’s at, with people increasingly choosing to travel with their partners (or ‘baes’). Romance can be felt all over the country and for anyone thinking of honeymooning here or even getting hitched, Czechia’s castles and chateau will provide the perfect backdrop to a wedding. Or if it’s a loved-up city break for two, head to Prague and seal your love with a kiss on the famous Charles Bridge overlooking the dreamy Vltava River. With its beautiful cobbled streets, gothic architecture and medieval charm, Prague is a picture-perfect romantic destination. Time to book that Valentine’s Day break?
Be bang on trend and make 2025 the year you experience a holiday to remember in Czechia
