Loganair, the UK’s largest regional airline, is celebrating a significant milestone on its Glasgow to Islay route, having flown 175,000 customers to and from the beautiful Hebridean island.
The achievement highlights the vital connectivity that Loganair provides to Islay’s residents, businesses, and visitors, offering an essential link between the island and mainland Scotland.
To mark the occasion, Loganair staff surprised Alison Jackson, a longstanding customer and local B&B owner on Islay, with free flight vouchers to use across Loganair’s extensive network.
Jackson, who frequently travels with her husband Andrew and daughters Eliza and Lily, expressed her delight. She said: “It was such a lovely surprise to receive these vouchers. We’ve been regular passengers on the Glasgow to Islay route since moving here in 2011.
“Running a small business on Islay, this route is essential – not only as a lifeline for us residents but also as a welcoming gateway for the tourists who visit our island.
“The Loganair staff are always so friendly and helpful, making every journey enjoyable. I’m looking forward to using these vouchers on a family trip next year.”

The Glasgow to Islay route is popular with tourists exploring Scotland’s renowned whisky distilleries, wildlife, and natural beauty, with Loganair flights helping make Islay one of Scotland’s most cherished destinations.

Loganair offers regular flights between Glasgow and Islay, and passengers can benefit from generous luggage allowances of up to 21kg, spread between on-board and cabin bags.
