TreeDwellers, extraordinary treehouses, now open in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds
TreeDwellers, Britain’s treehouse specialist, welcomed the first guests in the heart of the Oxfordshire Cotswolds this month. Hidden within the 1,700-acre ancient woodland of Cornbury Park and neighbouring the picturesque village of Charlbury, the seven architecturally-distinct treehouses invite guests to find solace in the beauty of this majestic forest from the comfort of their impressive one or two bedroom self-catering escapes.
Designed to blend seamlessly with the natural environment, each extraordinary treehouse is encased in timber, copper and glass, complementing the organic curves of the surroundings. Elevated three metres above the forest floor, these private retreats feature fully equipped kitchens, cosy living areas with wood-burning stoves, and one or two kingsize bedrooms. Guests will find generous freestanding bathtubs overlooking the flora, as well as cutting-edge Sonos surround sound systems, and in-treehouse tablets for convenient guest services. Modern, neutral interiors and huge windows frame the thriving woodland in all directions and allow nature to stream into the space.
TreeDwellers is the creation of Tim Rees, renowned for his creative approach to alternative accommodation. Rees’s vision is to provide a sanctuary where guests can effortlessly transition from the high-alert beta brainwaves to the calm and restful alpha brain waves, fostering a sense of relaxation and inspiration for those who cross the threshold.
“I am over the moon to welcome the first guests to TreeDwellers,” said Tim Rees, Founder and CEO. “It’s been a long journey to bring this vision into reality and I am thrilled to share this extremely special place with our guests. The woodland has long been a sanctuary for me, and I am confident our guests will leave feeling relaxed, restored, and inspired.”
Among the standout features at TreeDwellers is the UK’s first nine-metre, twin-coned Forest Megaphone. The wooden structure has been carefully hand-crafted to amplify the sounds of the forest, providing a one-of-a-kind auditory experience that promises to turn up the volume of nature’s symphony. The property also includes a yoga platform and pagoda, perfect for both personal wellness and magical woodland weddings.
TreeDwellers is conveniently located in the heart of the Cotswolds providing easy access to popular hotspots, Chipping Norton, Soho Farmhouse, Diddly Squat Farm Shop and Daylesford Farm Shop. The dedicated concierge team is available to assist with local area introductions, arrange private yoga sessions, book in-room wellness treatments, and offer dining recommendations.
Upon arrival, guests are welcomed with a hamper filled with local treats, such as the region’s finest cheese, Missing Bean coffee, Canton Tea, and Unordinary Oat Milk, and sommelier-selected wine. Additionally, an on-site shop is stocked with daily essentials, locally sourced beer from TAP Social, wine, and treats.
Starting from £220 per treehouse per night with a minimum two-night stay, TreeDwellers is now open for bookings. Charlbury rail station serves London in less than 90 minutes.
