PLAY airlines to launch intelligent shopping platform powered by InterLnkd
InterLnkd, the travel industry’s intelligent shopping mall partner, has teamed up with PLAY airlines to launch the carrier’s new pre-travel shopping platform, offering curated products to customers in both Europe and North America.
Announced at the World Aviation Festival, the partnership will see PLAY become the first airline to offer this functionality to North American travellers. Leveraging InterLnkd’s dynamic AI solution, the platform will give PLAY customers access to a specially curated selection of fashion, beauty, and essential products for their upcoming vacations.
In Europe, travellers will be able to browse an extensive range of products from high-end labels to household names including Marks & Spencer, WHSmith, Selfridges, Harvey Nichols, and Asos. Meanwhile, the North American platform will feature top US brands including Bloomingdale’s and CVS.
Sonja Arnórsdóttir, Chief Commercial Officer of PLAY airlines, said: “Our new e-commerce platform, powered by InterLnkd, will bring a new level of convenience to our passengers. Being the first airline to offer this service to US customers underscores our commitment to innovation and enhancing the travel experience. We’re confident this new feature will add real value to travellers looking to stock up on vacation essentials before heading to Iceland or across the Atlantic.”
Barry Klipp, CEO of InterLnkd, added: “Our collaboration with PLAY airlines marks a major step for InterLnkd, as their passengers will be among the first in North America to benefit from our curated shopping experience. With our intelligent matching engine, PLAY can easily tap into its customers’ post-booking shopping habits across both continents, all while earning a free revenue stream from the items their travellers want and need for their upcoming vacations.”
The new e-commerce platform, which offers more than 20,000 high street, luxury and premium brands, will seamlessly integrate into PLAY’s post-booking process, enabling the airline to generate incremental revenue from its customers’ purchases.
The agreement builds on InterLnkd’s recent successes, including raising £1 million in seed funding and forming strategic partnerships with leading travel brands such as Wizz Air and Thomas Cook.
