Conservatorium Hotel premieres ‘Ultimate Amsterdam 750’ experience to celebrate the city’s 750th birthday
The storied Conservatorium Hotel opened its doors in 2011 as the first and only Modern Grand Hotel in the city’s vibrant Museum Quarter. The area’s rich history and cultural significance serves as a powerful reminder of the city’s lasting legacy and its global contributions. As the city prepares to celebrate its 750th birthday, Amsterdam 750 – a collective initiated by the Amsterdam municipality – announces year-long celebrations, beginning in October 2024.
To commemorate these celebrations, the Conservatorium Hotel introduces the exclusive ‘Ultimate Amsterdam 750’ experience, a one-off offering that seamlessly blends luxury with culture. The hotel will partner with pinnacles of the Dutch cultural sphere to encompass the essence of Amsterdam – including collaborations with world-renowned art photographer Bastiaan Woudt, the prestigious Van Gogh Museum, Dutch haute couture designer Edwin Oudshoorn and more. Together, these experiences provide an unparalleled stay in the Dutch capital that pays homage to the city’s 750 years of existence.
The Stay
The ‘Ultimate Amsterdam 750’ package includes a five-night stay in the signature 155 m² triplex I Love Amsterdam Suite at the hotel including boundless gastronomic and rejuvenating experiences at Taiko Cuisine, Taiko Bar, BARBOUNIA and Akasha Spa. Furthermore, the package includes a private violin performance and fine dining experience by Taiko Cuisine, enjoyed on the rooftop of the suite with 360˚ views of Amsterdam’s cityscape. The five-night stay includes a private driver at the guests’ disposal.
Cultural Highlights
The ‘Ultimate Amsterdam 750’ experience offers an immersive cultural understanding of Amsterdam, including a helicopter tour over the city that provides panoramic views of its celebrated landmarks. Guests can also enjoy an exclusive after-hours tour at the Van Gogh Museum, offering an intimate encounter with iconic works by the celebrated artist. Additionally, the package includes tickets to the esteemed Rijksmuseum and Amsterdam Museum.
To preserve the memories of this cultural exploration, the Conservatorium Hotel collaborates with world-renowned art photographer Bastiaan Woudt for a personal portrait. Woudt is known for his unmistakable aesthetic signature and as part of the ‘Ultimate Amsterdam 750’ experience, Woudt will craft a personal portrait measuring 90cm x 120cm, complete with his signature and framed in museum glass. This exclusive artwork will distinguish guests as owners of an original Bastiaan Woudt creation, joining a select group that includes prominent figures such as politicians and celebrities.
Dutch Couture
The ‘Ultimate Amsterdam 750’ experience also provides a luxurious fashion and shopping offering through which guests can enrich their wardrobe with a custom-made couture gown by Edwin Oudshoorn, celebrated for his intricate designs and worn by the Dutch Royal Family. Complementing this is a perfectly tailored suit by ATTOLINI by Oger.
In further testament to Dutch craftsmanship, the hotel partners with Bonebakker: the country’s oldest jeweller, founded in 1792 and currently located in the Conservatorium Hotel’s Shopping Gallery. Guests are given a bespoke ‘Key of Amsterdam’ sterling silver keychain, bearing their initials. To complete this exclusive package, guests can indulge in a private after-hours shopping experience at Cartier, where they can explore its unique collection of jewellery and accessories with personalised attention.
