Chiva-Som Hua Hin plants 500 new mangroves
Trees were planted to commemorate the International Day for the Conservation of the Mangrove Ecosystem
In celebration of the International Day for the Conservation of the Mangrove Ecosystem on 26th July, transformative wellness destination Chiva-Som Hua Hin and local students planted 500 mangrove trees at the Krailart Niwate Mangrove Project.
This annual mangrove reforestation initiative underscores Chiva-Som’s commitment to sustainability and highlights the vital role of mangroves in preserving Hua Hin’s and the world’s ecosystems.
Getting the young involved
This year, Chiva-Som enhanced its efforts by involving youths from the local community in the initiative. This effort aims to foster conservation awareness among the younger generation.
Around 20 students from the local Wat Nong Kae Municipal School participated in planting 500 mangrove trees, representing 10 different species.
Chiva-Som also organised a visit to Pran Buri Forest Park for 80 members of the 13th Junior Ambassadors of The Preserve Hua Hin Group.
The group engaged in activities focused on restoring and conserving natural resources, such as mangrove and beach forest ecosystems, with initiatives including beach reforestation and releasing blue crabs into the wild.
