LOT Polish Airlines adds Innsbruck in Austria to its global network
Romantic snow-covered mountains, quaint villages, winter sports and cheerful mountain hut fun: there are many reasons for Indian travellers to discover the Alps during the winter months. With LOT Polish Airlines, this will be even easier this coming winter. Poland’s national carrier, a Star Alliance member, will launch a new service between Warsaw and the Austrian city of Innsbruck. The new route takes off on 29 November 2024 and will run throughout the winter period until 28 March 2025 year. The flights to Innsbruck will be operated each Friday. Passengers will travel on Boeing 737 aircraft, taking off from Warsaw Airport at 10:25h. The return flight from Innsbruck is scheduled for Friday afternoon – at 13:35h local time. The flight time on this route will be approximately 1.5 hours.
“Innsbruck is another route after Tashkent, Athens, Oradea and Riyadh that LOT will inaugurate this year. Thanks to the large fleet orders completed by LOT in recent months, we can offer travellers both new destinations and increase frequencies on existing ones. Innsbruck, the Austrian heart of winter sports, not only offers excellent skiing conditions, but also many cultural and tourist attractions. We strongly believe that this new connection will enjoy great interest among our passengers,” Michał Fijoł, CEO, LOT Polish Airlines, commented.
Over 350 kilometres of ski routes and home to the Swarovski crystals
Innsbruck impresses from the first moments after arrival. Stepping out onto the airport tarmac, passengers experience a unique view of the snow-capped Alpine peaks. Winter sports enthusiasts will surely find plenty of activities here. The Pearl of Tyrol offers more than 350 kilometres of ski routes, of varying degrees of difficulty. This city hosted the Winter Olympic Games twice, and today these unique routes are open to all lovers of skiing on the white slopes. The area is located at an altitude of 820 – 3210 metres above sea level, resulting in ideal snow conditions from late November to March. The Bergisel ski jumping hill, with its distinctive counter-slope, also hosts the annual competitions, providing visiting fans with an unforgettable experience.
The Austrian winter resort also has plenty to offer for sightseeing. Two beautiful castles, the Hofburg and the Ambras, surprise visitors with their richly decorated interiors and unusual exhibits. In the evenings, it is worth breathing the mountain air while strolling through the medieval old town with charming tenement houses. The treasure of the local area is also the factory and museum of the world’s most famous crystals – Swarovski crystals.
Thanks to the new service of LOT Polish Airlines, Indian travellers can easily add Innsbruck to their European travels. LOT Polish Airlines flies daily from India (from Delhi on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays; from Mumbai on Wednesdays and Sundays) to the Polish capital Warsaw.
