Travellers prioritise short haul city breaks: Co-op Holidays
Short haul city breaks are the most popular form of travel so far this year according to new data from Co-op Holidays, the in-house tour operator of Your Co-op Travel.
And as holidaymakers look to explore cities near the UK, Krakow has been revealed as the number one location for 2024, knocking Reykjavik off the top spot for the first time in three years.
Famous for its historic architecture, colourful street art, and cultural sights, travellers can enjoy a packed itinerary while holidaying in the city, helped byCo-op Holidays’ experts to discover authentic experiences that immerse them within the local culture.
Malta and New York have also proved popular, rounding out the top three most booked locations for 2024, while Costa Blanca and Jersey have been crowned fourth and fifth respectively, with long haul city breaks named the third most popular form of holiday.
Natalie Quiney, Content and Ecommerce Manager, at Co-op Holidays, said: “Given all city breaks have to offer, including delicious dining, attractions, and historical sites, it isn’t surprising to see that holidaymakers are prioritising short haul getaways to make the most of their annual leave and create memories with friends and family.
“At Co-op Holidays, we can help travellers tailor-make their perfect city break and experience more of destinations like Krakow through immersive and community-led adventures. From joining locals in cooking their regional cuisine to visiting famous attractions, there is something for everyone.”
