Destination Manager – An exciting opportunity has arisen to join this dynamic, successful tour operator as a Product Manager. As Product Manager you will have overall responsibility for developing the product portfolio and the sourcing, contracting and commercial management of your assigned region. This is an outstanding opportunity for candidates with extensive experience in a contracting & product management role within the travel industry to join one of the UK’s leading tour operators. Salary of up to £50k, hybrid working and an array of incredible staff benefits & travel concessions.
Destination Manager – Role & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the product strategy in assigned destinations, including sourcing approach & implementation, quality control and health & safety.
- Contracting all product within own areas with optimum commercial terms, according to deadlines, targets, and service level agreements.
- In conjunction with wider commercial team, responsible for the overall profitability of designated destinations. Analysis of booking data, competitor analysis, market insights to understand, manage and maximise destination performance.
- Oversee and develop your team through effective leadership, supporting with training as needed.
- Effective management of supplier relationships to enhance profitable and mutually beneficial commercial partnerships.
Destination Manager – Skills & Experience Required:
- Proven experience in the travel industry within a Contracting, Product or Commercial Management role.
- Ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and conduct face to face meetings, with exceptional negotiation and influencing skills.
- Strong commercial acumen, analytical and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritise workloads and adapt to changing internal and external environments, problem solve and make sound business decisions.
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience of people management would be an advantage.
- This role involves considerable overseas travel, therefore a full driving license with confidence to drive abroad would be preferred.
Destination Manager – Additional Information:
- Salary according to experience £42k to £50k plus bonus
- Working Hours – 0900 – 1730 Monday to Friday, with some flexi time at the start and end of the day available.
- Hybrid working, minimum of 2 days in the office. Flexibility required according to meetings, supplier visits and ad hoc business needs.
