Minister of Transport, YB Anthony Loke said: “We are pleased to recognise AirAsia as one of the pioneer airlines in our country that consistently supports the government’s initiatives to ensure Malaysians can travel with affordable and reasonable fares, especially during the festive season. The airline’s fixed low fares initiative is also in line with the government’s FLYsiswa programme to subsidise RM300 for the purchase of flight tickets for public university students and the RM599 base-fare** subsidy scheme for the purchase of one-way economy class flight tickets to East Malaysia as announced last year. This synergy between the government and industry players is essential for fostering a robust and dynamic aviation sector that contributes significantly to the overall progress and prosperity of the nation. Thus, we look forward to continuously working with all industry stakeholders for the better welfare of all Malaysians.”
Group CEO of AirAsia Aviation Group, Bo Lingam said: “As we usher in the Lunar New Year, we are committed to strengthening our support in flying our guests back home to reunite with their families affordably. Today, we are pleased to reintroduce the fixed low fares for late-night flights between Peninsular and East Malaysia with around 25,000 seats for the upcoming festive period. We thank the government for their steadfast encouragement, which empowers us to continue making travel accessible for all, ensuring families can reunite joyfully and affordably during this important time.”
