Wedding season 2023 is here! Many couples now opt for a more adventurous destination wedding rather than a ceremony in the UK. Surprisingly destination weddings can sometimes be much cheaper than getting married in the UK; plus, with the unpredictable weather this country brings, it can feel like a safer option to choose a country with more reliable weather.
Fashion retailer and wedding experts Moss has analysed search trends and social media data to uncover the top 20 cities worldwide where couples go for their destination weddings!
1) Dubai – Taking first place as the most popular destination to get married in is Dubai, with over 200,000 searches for Dubai weddings every month. Social media shows the same, with 16 million likes and shares and over half a million Dubai-related wedding hashtags on Instagram. When it comes to specific locations, Dubai’s Burj al Arab is the second most searched wedding location in the world.
2) Miami – In Second place is Miami, one of the most expensive cities to get married in in the US, but the sun, sea, amazing food and entertainment options make it all worthwhile. It’s also easy to get to from around the world and features fantastic venues and hotels. So, if there are plenty of international guests on your invite list, Miami could be just the place to say “I do.”
3) Singapore City – Singapore City has some seriously jaw-dropping wedding locations, with some amazing places to get married and have your wedding catered. The Fullerton Bay Hotel in Singapore City, an intimate venue with fantastic views of the city skyline, is one of the most-searched wedding locations in the world.
