Emirates has announced the launch of the Emirates Sealine, a super-luxury cruise liner.
The airline broadcast a clip of a trial trip around Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah.
Emirates claims its cruises offer “never-before-imagined” experiences and take passengers to exotic locations.
The company announced a massive, multibillion-dollar purchase for ten cruise ships, all equipped with state-of-the-art technology and facilities.
Emirates said the first cruise will set sail from Dubai Harbour on 1 April 2024, with Karachi as the first stop.
Since its inception, Emirates has been closely linked to maritime endeavours, from powerboat racing in Dubai’s Dubai Water Canal to, most recently, the Emirates Great Britain SailGP Team. Captain Jack Shallow, the newly appointed chief maritime officer at the helm of Emirates Sealine, said in a statement that while cities around the world remain tethered to challenges, Dubai is sailing smoothly at unimaginable knots and has outstanding cruise and other multi-modal transport infrastructure.
Emirates has promised its guests a stress-free air-land-sea experience by transporting them in custom-built electric chauffeur-driven vehicles between Dubai Airport and Dubai Harbour.
Anybody keeping an eye out for the high premium cruise experience: From 31 June 2023, passengers can book their voyages and view available itineraries on the Emirates Sealine website.
