In the northern summer of 2024, a new Disney Cruise Line island resort at Lighthouse Point in the Bahamas will welcome guests. Natural beauty will be combined with the enchantment of Bahamian hospitality, storytelling, and craftsmanship in this one-of-a-kind island experience.
The destination, located on the island of Eleuthera, was built in close collaboration with local artists and consultants. Upon arrival at Lighthouse Point, visitors will be met by striking, sweeping architecture in vivid, saturated colours and curved buildings like Bahamian shells dotted around the beach.
Visitors may unwind and play on white sand beaches and turquoise seas at the expansive family beach on the island’s east side, which will be centrally located among market-style restaurants, leisure, and other attractions.
A brightly coloured, interactive water play area will have two slides, water drums, fountains, and other features and a separate area for children. A covered gaming pavilion, a volleyball court, a gaga ball pit, boat and bicycle rentals, nature paths for hiking and bicycling, and other activities will be accessible for children and adults.
Children aged three to twelve will splash and play at a themed kids’ club supervised by highly experienced Disney counsellors, including a splash pad inspired by favourite aquatic animals from The Little Mermaid, lots of shade, and a dedicated eating area. North of the family section will be an adult-only beach with “sun-drenched serenity” and an eating area for easy access to food and beverages throughout the day, as well as six private cabanas available by reservation.
The environment is at the heart of Lighthouse Point’s design, with an on-site solar array meeting at least 90% of the destination’s electrical demands. The pier was built to prevent dredging, and raised walkways will assist in lessening the impact on the environment. The bustling island hideaway will also be a one-of-a-kind celebration of Bahamian culture, enhanced by the quality and service of a Disney vacation.
A Bahamian art and culture pavilion with unique events and local artists will give visitors to Lighthouse Point the opportunity to learn about and appreciate the country’s traditions and natural beauty.
