India launches air bubble with Thailand

The Ministry of Civil Aviation in India has informed that India and Thailand have entered into an air bubble pact to start flight operation between both countries.

“India has created an air bubble arrangement with Thailand. Indian carriers and carriers of Thailand are now permitted to operate flights between India and Thailand and carry passengers on flights defined in the agreement. Traffic carried to/from India shall comprise of passengers originating from/destined to Thailand only, and similarly, traffic carried to/from Thailand shall comprise of passengers origination from India only,” the Ministry of Civil Aviation said in its statement.

To enable more convenience to air passengers travelling between the two countries, earlier this month, Thailand’s Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) had approved a proposal to establish an Air Travel Bubble (ATB) between India and Thailand.

With this new air bubble arrangement with Thailand, India has taken the total number of such arrangements to 36 countries.
