Genting’s biggest luxury ship to call on Mumbai during maiden voyage
Michael Goh, president of Dream Cruises, along with Naresh Rawal, Vice President – Sales & Marketing, India & South Asia, Genting Cruise Lines announced the proposed launch of the biggest luxury cruise ship from Genting Cruises portfolio, Global Dream, in May 2021.
The USD 1.8 billion ship being built at its own shipyard in Germany, MV Werften, will have a length of 342 metres with 2,350 cabins, all four seaters and it will be the highest capacity cruise ship to accommodate approximately 9,000 passengers. Goh said: “The launch of the ship in May 2021 will coincide with the Indian travel season and will call on Mumbai port on its maiden journey from Germany to Singapore.”
As far as deployment is concerned, Goh said that being the biggest ship it will be deployed around Singapore, China, Japan and Taiwan.
