From hot air balloons across the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer to a majestic winter wonderland at the Monaco Christmas Village, Monaco is somewhere everyone can have a very Merry Christmas!
The famed country has more than enough to ensure you have the most magical festive season. Below are the things to do this holiday season.
A Fantastical Festive Week at the Monte-Carlo Societe des Bains de Mer
To welcome in the New Year, Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer has picked an aerial theme: “Luck takes us higher”. During this festive period, hot air balloons will soar above the mythical Place du Casino, “L’Etoile des Neiges” will return to the Blue Gin of Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort, Hotel de Paris Monte-Carlo will transform its patio into a fairy-tale garden and Hotel Hermitage Monte-Carlo will bring together young and old to celebrate Christmas.
Get ready to put your dancing shoes on too as a funk and disco dinner show will be held at the Salle des Etoiles on 31 December, in the presence of legendary Nile Rodgers & Chic.
A frosty fairytale at the Hotel Metropole Monte-Carlo
For their year-end festivities, Hotel Metropole Monte-Carlo is transforming into an immaculate, polar Christmas village. Upon your arrival, guests can discover a shower of stars above the path leading to the hotel. Upon entering the hotel, guests will be taken aback by the snow-covered village at the Salon des Princes. Giving the feel of an enchanted forest, children and adults can take their places in their igloos, drifting into a dream world or writing a letter to Santa Claus.
There are also gourmet crepe demonstrations at the lobby bar, lunch, brunch and dinner offerings at their Michelin-starred restaurants and a free New Year’s Eve workshop where children aged 4 to 12 can decorate hats and create their own unique ‘bracelet of resolutions’.
And that’s not all, guests staying at the Hotel Metropole Monte-Carlo can also visit the Oceanographic Museum as part of their night tours where you can discover coral reefs, over 6,000 specimens and the historic décor of the “Salle des Conferences” and “Salon d’Honneur” with just a torch. Guests can complete their spell-binding evening by enjoying refreshments under the stars and views of the Mediterranean.
Monaco Christmas Village
Immerse yourself in the glory of the all-white Monaco Christmas Village where visitors can check out igloo shops (instead of the traditional wooden chalets). Visitors can also admire the jugglers and dancers, and there will be special creative workshops for children on Wednesdays and at weekends (drawing, face-painting).
You can also enjoy sweet and savoury dishes on the tables set up in the village, or get together with family or friends for a glass of mulled wine and even visit Santa Claus’ house and get a picture with him while you explore the stunning Innuit Village and the Ice Village.
