Accor has announced the opening of its latest Mercure property in Korea this week, with the launch of Mercure Ambassador Ulsan, a development which sees the company open, what it believes to be, the “the first internationally branded hotel” on the southeastern coast.
Found near some of Ulsan’s best attractions and retail options, the property is within walking distance of the city’s major shopping areas and, of course, beaches — which have influenced the interiors design of the hotel that have incorporated by the polygon shapes of the volcanic rocks found on the local coast line.

Patrick Basset, chief operating officer of Accor, Upper Southeast & Northeast Asia and the Maldives, said: “The opening of Mercure Ambassador Ulsan marks the 24th hotel in South Korea. Home to Mount Gagi, the tallest mountain in the city and one of the most breathtaking in the country, Ulsan features some of the best Korean beaches out there. Perfect for business and leisure travellers, the hotel offers a picturesque ocean view of the coastal area.”

Featuring 131 guest rooms, all of which overlook the the ocean, Mercure Ambassador Ulsan boasts super-comfy Simmons bedding, a 49” LED TV, WiFi internet connection and signature in-room amenities. Diners can enjoy a range of Eastern and Western cuisines at the signature Opus restaurant. Leisure facilities include a spa and an on-site fitness centre for guests to keep up with their health routines with professional trainers.
