Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has announced the upcoming opening of Wyndham Grand Tbilisi in the heart of Georgia’s capital.
Scheduled to open in January 2019, Wyndham Grand Tbilisi will add to the hospitality group’s nearly 9,000 hotels in more than 80 countries and territories. Other top destinations around the world where the brand can be found include Athens, Istanbul, Manama, Chicago and Shanghai, among others.
“Where arts, culture, and lifestyle are thriving”
Dimitris Manikis, president and managing director of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts EMEA, said: “Wyndham Grand is designed to give guests a one-of-a-kind experience in some of the most sought-after cities around the world.
“Georgia has increasingly become an attractive travel destination where arts, culture, and lifestyle are thriving, and this fabulous location in Tbilisi is simply the perfect spot to bring our iconic brand to this exciting market.”
Wyndham Grand Tbilisi will consist of 161 guest rooms and suites (including a presidential suite) across eight floors. Other amenities will include a fitness centre, spa facilities with an indoor pool and sauna, an elegant roof-top bar and restaurant, business facilities, as well as an expansive ballroom for large events.
To be managed by McInerney Hospitality International Georgia, Wyndham Grand Tbilisi will be located centrally on Freedom Square, adjacent to the National Museum of Georgia and close to a host of other important attractions in the city. It will be a stone’s throw from the popular Rustaveli Avenue — surrounded by cafes, restaurants and some of the country’s best shopping districts.
“Wyndham Grand is all about refined accommodation”
Gocha Gyenetadze, director of the hotel’s owner, City- M LTD, added: “We are delighted to partner with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts and we look forward to combining its unmatched scale, distribution and world-class resources with our culture of hospitality excellence through this exciting opening.
“Wyndham Grand is all about refined accommodation, impeccable service and a delightful guest experience, and we are hugely proud to be able to add Tbilisi to this incredible collection.”
Wyndham Grand Tbilisi is the latest addition to the group’s footprint in Georgia. The property will join Ramada Encore Tbilisi which opened earlier this year and Wyndham Batumi. Wyndham Hotels & Resorts plans to add four more hotels in the next three years.
