Hong Kong Airlines’ new partnership to harness connectivity as aircraft fleet grows

Sabre Corporation today announced an agreement with Hong Kong Airlines to implement Sabre AirCentre Crew technology, a solution that offers a range of crew scheduling, management, services and analytical capabilities. This new partnership marks a significant collaboration between Sabre and a fast-growing airline in the Asia Pacific region.
“Sabre provides an end-to-end solution for both our cabin and flight crews, allowing us to continue to provide our customers with the best travelling experience,” said Ben Wong (main picture), chief operating officer at Hong Kong Airlines. “Already, a benchmark exercise demonstrated that Sabre AirCentre Crew Solutions can deliver savings due to a reduction in crew requirements, in comparison with the current pairing process. This demonstrates the immense added value that this new partnership with Sabre brings to Hong Kong Airlines,” he added.
This has got to be a smart move for Hong Kong Airlines. With the increased connectivity between the aircraft, flight crew, and airline staff, this a great opportunity for the airline to make the best use of their processes in the air and on the ground. Once fully implemented, Sabre’s Crew Solutions will help reduce controllable delays by improving productivity related to scheduling, benefitting both the flight and cabin crew, and will be invaluable as the airline continues to build its fleet.
The technology encourages a proactive approach that enables speedy communications between schedulers and crew members, which reduces costs by minimizing crew overage, and contributes to increased productivity by better connecting all touchpoints, promoting better crew utilisation through optimized pairings, scheduling and tracking. The solution also drives improved operational efficiency by providing a more proactive means of tracking and communicating with crew in real-time.
