When adventuring with baby, there are some travel essentials we just never leave home without. From organic formula and soothing shampoo by Earths Best to super chic diaper bags by Skip Hop and the Sooth Shirt by Lalabu that lets you wear your newborn while doubling as a nursing tank, taking these products on your next vacation will help ensure it goes as smooth (and stylish!) as traveling with babies can.
Earth’s Best Organic
Earth’s Best Organic makes a number of infant products that we really love, whether on the road or at home — if you’re traveling you can simply measure out and re-package in smaller zip lock bags for short trips. Earth’s Best Organic® Infant Formula with iron is produced using organic milk sourced from farms where cows are not given added growth hormones or antibiotics, and the formula also has no added corn syrup solids, which we like. It is fortified with iron for red blood cell development, and contains DHA and ARA, which are two fatty acids found in breast milk that support brain and eye health.
This company also makes a Soothing Lavender Shampoo and Body Wash that is great for travel. It gently cleans your baby’s delicate skin and hair, and besides the pleasant lavender scent (that isn’t too overpowering), the product is also infused with chamomile that soothes sensitive dry skin.
Also check out Earth’s Best TenderCare Chlorine Free Diapers. Comfortable and super absorbent, they are latex, dye and perfume-free and are made from earth-friendly renewable resources. We like how breathable and stretchy they are.
Speaking of diapers, Earth’s Best also mades a gentle and hypo-allergenic Baby Care Diaper Relief Ointment that offers soothing protection for your baby. It consists of a formula enriched with vitamin E and aloe vera, which are both effective for treating and preventing diaper rash.
Skip Hop
Another company we love for its product diversity is Skip Hop. If you’re looking for a fashionable diaper bag for mom, check out the Skip Hop Diaper Backpacks, (starting at $65.00), which are quite chic. For example, the Duo Diaper Backpack has all the must-have features of a diaper bag, including nine pockets and stroller straps, all in a sporty-chic design. The Forma Diaper Backpack is a sleek style that performs double duty: it’s got plenty of storage space for everything from spare outfits to snacks and bottles, and it’s padded pocket can serve as a laptop holder when you’re traveling. Our favorite backpack, though, is the Chelsea Downtown Chic Diaper Backpack. The trendy shape and gold-toned hardware make it edgy, but it’s still got plenty of room for all the things mom needs to take care of baby on-the-go.
Skip Hop also makes a fashion-forward Nursing Cover and Scarf ($30.00) made from soft, breathable material. It has a mesh window that allows you to view your baby, but still provides cover as you nurse. Wear it poncho style for 360-degree coverage, position it over one shoulder, or even wear it as an infinity scarf when not feeding baby. Finally, we love the infant-sized Stroll & Go Three-Season Footmuff ($80.00) for extra warmth in the stroller during chilly temperatures. The outer shell is windproof and water resistant, and the bottom even unzips to accommodate dirty shoes. This versatile item works in any season: use one layer for fall or spring, then add the winter layer when colder weather rolls around. If you head indoors, simply unsnap the winter layer for instant temperature control. Your baby will be cozy and comfy no matter what the weather is!
Diaper Dude Canvas Pocket Pack
This one is designed for the dads. Designed to hold essentials needed for a full day out, whether on the trail or on the airplane, the Diaper Dude Canvas Pocket Pack ($97.99) features a large main compartment with a zip-closed pocket, a padded laptop sleeve and insulated bottle pockets among other features.
Bebe au Lait’s Wet & Dry Bags
Sometimes on the road there is no where to throw out a dirty diaper, and then last thing you to do is put a wet diaper in with baby’s clean clothes or have to carry around two separate bags. Bebe au Lait’s Wet & Dry Bags ($20) offer a handy solution by creating separate pockets for dirty and wet diapers while providing isolated, sanitary spaces, for clean pacifiers, bottles and toys, all in one bag!
Flipsi Baby Bottle
You don’t want to take a bottle brush or drying rack on the road with you, so consider the Flipsi Baby Bottle ($15.99) for a good infant travel hack. It can be completely flipped inside out for easier and more thorough cleaning and drying. And because this bottle is so easy to clean, you can travel with fewer bottles (we suggest taking two), reducing how much you need to pack for your little one.
Pura Stainless
Pura Stainless takes care of your liquid container needs from infancy to adult. We love this company because their products are environmentally progressive, made only from safe, non-toxic products and yet still stylish and best of all, cost efficient. They also make a number of different product lines for various age groups, including infants, toddlers, kids and adults. For instance, the Infant line (starting at $13.99) comes in three sizes and with different bright colored sleeve options. Both the bottle and collar are crafted from high-quality stainless steel and the slow flow nipple is made from medical grade silicone, creating a 100% BPA-free and toxin-free feeding system.
Lalabu: Sooth Shirt and Leggings
We love the Sooth Shirt by Lalabu ($75). It literally is the easiest way to wear your newborn and also serves double duty as a nursing tank. The shirt features an easy-to-use pouch that baby slips into. The fabric and closeness to you helps sooth your little one as well. The shirt has an inner mesh panel for breathability that helps keep mom cool, and includes a built in nursing bra, soft elastic band for support and two fabric layers for extra coverage. Best of all, the pouch comes with an extender to grow as your little one does. Lalabu also makes a version of the Sooth Shirt for men (without the bra portion of course). Another product we love by this Atlanta-based company are the Lalabu Leggings ($75). They are slimming, supportive and comfortable to wear while your body goes through postpartum weight changes. We love the stylish look, four-way stretch material and the casual crop length that make them a great choice for when your maternity clothes are too big but your pre-pregnancy pants are still a little tight.
