With Caribbean bookings up 18 per cent this year, Travel 2 has added 26 new properties and 12 new tours to its 2018 Mexico, Latin America and Caribbean brochure.
Famed for having over 70 miles of white-sand beaches, Barbados has proved the worldwide operator’s best-selling Caribbean island. Travel 2 has therefore introduced four new hotels, including the adult-only Treasure Beach hotel which reopened in November after an extensive renovation programme.
The worldwide operator’s Mexico portfolio, meanwhile, will be boosted by eleven additional hotels, including the recently refurbished Barcelo Maya Beach and the new family-friendly Panama Jack Resorts Gran Porto Playa del Carmen.
Other top performers across the region include Grenada – up by a record 105.3 per cent – and Trinidad and Tobago, which experienced a 90.7 per cent increase.
New touring experiences for 2018 range from a 12-day Landscapes of Northern Argentina tour and 7-day Essential Uruguay option to the chance to soak up some of Central America’s rich biodiversity on a 9-day Natural Wonders of Costa Rica trip.
To help agents capitalise on the growing trend for wellbeing experiences, a number of the new hotels are ideal for those seeking a healthy holiday. These include the all-inclusive Unico 20°87° Hotel Riviera Maya, where stays include select treatments from its holistic spa and wellness centre, and the new Hotel Xcaret Mexico. Opening this month, this luxury property offers a series of hydrotherapy and natural spa treatments inspired by ancient Mayan and Ayurvedic traditions.
Nick Hughes, Sales Director dnata Travel B2B Europe, said:
“Whilst the Caribbean has received a lot of media attention this year, it’s important to understand that it is business as usual for most islands. We were especially fortunate that 99% of the properties in our Caribbean portfolio were not badly affected by this year’s hurricanes and hope that by expanding the range of holiday options we can capture the imagination of even more travellers in 2018.”
To celebrate the new 2018 Mexico, Latin America and Caribbean brochure, three Nespresso Coffee machines are up for grabs. Every agent who makes a qualifying booking before 24 December 2017, including return flights and a minimum of five nights’ ground arrangements, to any destination from Travel 2’s new brochure, will be automatically entered into the prize draw.
