Organised by the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB), the Sun Hung Kai Properties Hong Kong Cyclothon was held on Sunday, with the participation of 4,900 local and international cyclists.
The HKTB appreciates the generous support locals, visitors, government departments, sponsors, and participating organisations put into the event. It would not have been such a success without the enthusiastic participation of cyclists from around the world and the commitment from about 1,000 volunteers.
This year’s Sun Hung Kai Properties Hong Kong Cyclothon featured nine categories, one of which was the highlighted Sun Hung Kai Properties Hong Kong Challenge, a Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Asia Tour Class 1.1 Road Race, held for the first time in Hong Kong.
Almost 100 top cyclists on 17 professional teams from 12 countries and regions competed in the race, and after an exciting 20-lap, 103km competition, Matej Mohoric from UAE Team Emirates won the race. With Taiwanese cyclist Feng Chun-kai was the winner of the Men’s Open, and Hong Kong cyclist Lenny Leung came in first in the Women’s Open.
