Fijian rugby sevens star, Jerry Tuwai, has become a new brand ambassador for Fiji Airways.
The sportsman, who was part of the gold medal-winning Fijian team at the Rio Olympics, will now represent the national carrier and its subsidiary, Fiji Link, in marketing, PR and social media campaigns.
“I’m excited and very honoured to be part of our national airline,” Tuwai said. “This opportunity allows me to connect with Fijians and fan everywhere, particularly where Fiji Airways and Fiji Link fly to.
“One of the best experiences of being a rugby player is travelling and particularly on the return journey I am always looking out for Fiji Airways at the airport. As soon as I see the aircraft and meet the crew, I know I’m home,” he added.
Fiji Airways’ managing director & CEO, Andre Viljoen, commented; “We’re very delighted to add yet another extremely popular Fijian to our pool of ambassadors. Our brand is all about being uniquely Fijian, and we hope having someone like Jerry will inspire more Fijians in Fiji and around the world to connect with our brand whether it’s through travel, rugby, events or social media.”
Tuwai joins former Fiji’s national sevens coach, Ben Ryan, and Fijian football star Roy Krishna in the Fiji Airways’ brand ambassador programme.
