Wendy Wu has introduced a 16-day ‘Best of Borneo’ holiday, from £3,790pp.
The new tour comes in response to a shift in travel and an increasing trend in customers looking beyond the traditional escorted tour for more experiential travel.
Best of Borneo includes a visit to Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre, the international centre for the rehabilitation of rescued and orphaned young orangutans; visiting a tribal longhouse with Borneo’s Iban community and insight into their tribal traditions plus a rainforest hike at the foot of Mount Kinabalu, Borneo’s highest mountain and Malaysia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Linh Farid, product manager Southeast Asia at Wendy Wu, said: “We’ve seen a sharp rise in the number of travellers wanting more cultural and unique travel experiences that give a real sense of discovery. With Borneo you get the best of everything, expert local guides on hand to give travellers the best authentic and local experiences, excursions to several heritage sites, an amazing group atmosphere, great food and access to explore and stay in some of the of the most unique and richest ecosystems on the planet such as the Kinabatangan River. What’s more Borneo has some of the best beaches and diving areas in the world, making it the ultimate holiday destination with everything from the jungle to the coast.”
The tour is on sale now and is the first of a series of new holidays appearing in the operator’s ‘South East Asia’ collection launching in September.
