Grand Canyon Helicopters has announced the launch of its newest tour out of Las Vegas: Heli & Whitewater Rafting Adventure, a day tour for visitors to Las Vegas.
Offered in partnership with Hualapai River Runners, the adventure begins by checking into the Grand Canyon Helicopters terminal, located at McCarran International Airport’s Atlantic Terminal.
Guests board the helicopter for a flight to the airport in Peach Springs, Arizona. There, Hualapai River Runners will transport guests to the Hualapai Lodge, where they will board an eight-person motorized river raft, designed especially for navigating the Colorado River.
The Hualapai River Runner guides provide insights into the ancient land as well as age-old stories passed down by their ancestors.
The 4-hour whitewater adventure consists of rapids ranging from four to seven, depending upon water levels and is experienced during the first 12 miles of the trip.
Along the way, a stop is made for a moderate hike to Travertine Cavern Falls and lunch next to the river bank.
The whitewater rafting portion concludes at Grand Canyon West. From the edge of the river, guests will make their way up to the Ramada for a helicopter flight, 4,000 feet to the top of the canyon before landing at Grand Canyon West Airport.
Including limousine transportation, flights and whitewater rafting, the adventure takes up to 12 hours from start to finish. Complimentary round-trip transfers are available from nearly every Southern Nevada resort and casino.
The price is $855 (£658) per adult and $835 (£643) per child (must be eight years or older).
