Regarding the EU-level agreement to end mobile roaming charges which is in to force from 15 June 2017, ABTA says it wants to ensure this agreement remains in place once we leave the EU, something that is unclear at this stage.
The association says the agreement will benefit British holidaymakers and business travellers by ensuring that they will pay the same price for call, texts and mobile data wherever they go in the EU.
With most holidaymakers and business travellers increasingly reliant on mobile phone and internet use abroad, and the advent of e-tickets and e-receipts for accommodation, the agreement has been a welcome development.
ABTA encourages the government to make sure that we retain this ‘highly valuable and pragmatic’ EU-level agreement once we leave the EU.
