Strand Cruise – experience Myanmar through a lens

Following the success of its first classical music voyage along Myanmar’s majestic Ayeyarwady River earlier this month, The Strand Cruise has announced details of new dates for its series of expert-led themed cruises for 2017 and 2018.
Each departure will follow The Strand Cruise’s scheduled four-night Bagan-Mandalay itinerary, which will be enhanced by the presence of professional experts hosting each voyage and presenting additional activities on board and during shore excursions designed to enrich passengers’ experience of Myanmar and its culture.
Culinary Cruise – departing 13th March 2017
Chef Christian Martena, who is responsible for the culinary offerings of both The Strand Cruise and The Strand Yangon, will be joined by fellow chef, Sylvain Royer, Michelin starred Chef de Cuisine of the R&B Lab Company and a Bangkok-based farm to table fanatic who is responsible for several highly acclaimed restaurants in the region.
Photography Cruise – departing 16th October 2017
Myanmar is a photographer’s delight, with glowing sunrises, expansive landscapes and characterful people. Professional photographer, Lucas Guardjian, joins passengers on The Strand Cruise in October to share his knowledge on how to capture this once in a lifetime experience and improve their skills as a photographer.
Classical Music Cruise – departing 13th November 2017 & 12th February 2018
Classical music aficionados are in for a treat as artists from the Opéra de Paris and Orchestre de Paris will return to The Strand Cruise in November 2017 and February 2018 to present a new programmes of scores from some of history’s most famous composers, played against a backdrop of romantic sunsets, starlit night skies and a vista of thousands of pagodas.
Further themed cruises will be announced as they are confirmed.
